YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a United States citizen after he attempted to smuggle three illegal aliens around the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint on Saturday.

At approximately 7:10 a.m., Wellton Station agents conducted a vehicle stop on a silver Ford F-150 after the driver, a 30-year-old Yuma man, left Highway 95 and traveled through Dome Valley in an attempt to circumvent the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint. The three illegal aliens were determined to be Mexican nationals illegally present in the United States.  One of the illegal aliens had been previously removed three times with a felony conviction for forgery in the state of Iowa.  The male subjects range in age from 19 years old to 35 years old.

The U.S. citizen was arrested for alien smuggling, and the illegal aliens were processed for immigration violations.
