Commissioner meets with Ed Meese
Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske met with Edwin Meese III on November 14, 2014. The meeting was part of an assessment of how the FBI has implemented the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission to become a threat-focused, intelligence-driven agency. Perhaps best known as U.S. attorney general during Reagan’s second term, Meese’s service to Ronald Reagan stretched from the California governor’s mansion in 1966 to the White House in 1981 before he went to the Department of Justice four years later. Meese continues a quarter-century formal association with The Heritage Foundation as the leading think tank’s Ronald Reagan Distinguished Fellow Emeritus.
