CBPO Crispin San Jose

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Crispin San Jose passed away on March 9, 2021. The circumstances of his passing were reviewed by an executive panel and the CBP Commissioner who agreed that his death occurred in the line of duty. CBPO San Jose will be remembered for his diligent service to the nation and for his bravery in the face of danger.

CBPO San Jose recently served at the Cross Border Xpress, San Ysidro Port of Entry in California. He started his career with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service as an
immigration inspector in July 1992 at the San Ysidro Port of Entry and was promoted to special operations immigration inspector on May 26, 1996. Officer San Jose also worked as a CBP officer at the Otay Mesa port of entry in California.

Prior to beginning his federal career, CBPO San Jose was a police officer with the San Diego Police Department. He served our country in the United States Navy for 22 years from 1966 to 1987 before retiring as a Chief Ship’s Serviceman. He is survived by his wife, a son, and two grandchildren.
