U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Victor J. Donate passed away on October 7, 2021. The circumstances of his passing were reviewed by an executive panel and the CBP Commissioner who agreed that this death occurred in the line of duty. CBPO Donate will be remembered for his diligent service to the nation and for his bravery in the face of danger.
Officer Donate began his federal career as an immigration inspector with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service on September 29, 1996 and was assigned to the Sanford International Airport in Sanford, Florida. He transferred to the Port of Atlanta in 2014 and was assigned to the core Passenger Processing Team within the Passenger Operations Division at the Atlanta International Airport.
Officer Donate honorably served his country for 30 years as a pilot in the U.S. Army before retiring at the rank of lieutenant colonel. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
