CBP Officer Yokemia Conyers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Yokemia L. Conyers passed away on August 18, 2021. The circumstances of her passing were reviewed by an executive panel and the CBP Commissioner who agreed that this death occurred in the line of duty. Officer Conyers will be remembered for her diligent service to the nation and for her bravery in the face of danger.

Officer Conyers began her federal career with legacy Customs as a customs inspector in Miami, Florida, on July 19, 1998. She was most recently assigned to the Cargo Clearance Center, Trade Enforcement Team Cargo Unit at Miami International Airport where she played an integral role in enforcement actions.

Officer Conyers was a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, and moved to the Miami area in 1989 to attend Florida Memorial University and had since called Miami her home. She is survived by her mother, a sister, and a brother.
