EL PASO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers saw an influx of arrests for wanted fugitives over this past week with a total of 22 arrests made throughout the El Paso, West Texas and southern New Mexico regions. Included was a person sought on injury to a child charges and another wanted for assault on a family member.
“CBP is committed to helping find and arresting these wanted persons attempting to evade justice,” said CBP El Paso Director of Field Operations Hector A. Mancha. “We are members of the communities we serve and have a professional and personal interest in stopping any and all violations.”
From March 6 through March 9, CBP Officers arrested 15 wanted individuals for the crimes of sexual assault of a child, burglary, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault-family/house member, and larceny.
Wednesday, March 10, CBP Officers at the Ysleta Port of Entry arrested a wanted subject for assault of a family member. The same day, Customs and Border Protection Officers from the El Paso Port of Entry arrested wanted individuals for driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault.
On Thursday, March 11, CBP Officers arrested four wanted individuals. The first individual was arrested at the Presidio Port of Entry for injury to child or disabled person and assault. The three remaining individuals were wanted for driving while intoxicated, violation of a court order, and possession of a controlled substance.
All subjects were arrested by CBP Officers and turned over to local authorities to face charges.
