Border Patrol Agents Arrest Convicted Murderer

EAGLE PASS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass South Station arrest a convicted murderer, Sept. 1.

Border Patrol Agents arrested Luis Perez-Gallegos, 33, a citizen of Mexico, shortly after he entered the United States illegally. During processing, agents discovered that in 2006, Perez-Gallegos was convicted of murder 2nd degree/with a deadly weapon in Miami-Dade County, Florida. For his crimes, he was sentenced to five years incarceration.

Perez-Gallegos was ordered removed by an immigration judge and subsequently removed from the United States in 2011.

As a convicted felon, he faces a charge of 8 USC § 1326 – Re-entry After Deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
