TUCSON, Ariz. – Willcox Border Patrol agents arrested a 21-year-old Douglas woman Wednesday morning after finding dozens of marijuana bricks in her vehicle during an inspection at the State Route 80 Immigration Checkpoint.
Agents working the primary inspection lane referred the driver of a Chrysler Pacifica for a secondary inspection after a Border Patrol canine alerted to an odor it is trained to detect. Agents subsequently discovered dozens of small, plastic-wrapped marijuana bundles concealed throughout the vehicle’s interior.
Agents seized the vehicle and charged the driver for drug smuggling. She will remain in custody pending a disposition in her case. The marijuana, weighing almost 118 pounds, was also seized and taken to the Willcox Station for processing.
