The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m., when a Greyhound passenger bus arrived at the checkpoint.  The bus was directed by agents to go into the secondary staging area for an immigration inspection of the passengers.

While in secondary inspection, Border Patrol agents ask for and received consent to search luggage belonging to a male juvenile passenger.  Agents discovered seven cellophane packages concealed inside the juvenile’s black duffle bag.  Agents determined that the packages contained a substance that was consistent with the characteristics of methamphetamine.

The total weight of the narcotics discovered was 6 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated value of $11,400.

The male juvenile, a United States citizen, and the narcotics and vehicle were turned over to the Border Crime Suppression Team.
