Del Rio Border Patrol Agents Arrest Convicted Sex Offender

DEL RIO, Texas – Del Rio Sector U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted sex offender, Sept. 6.

Del Rio Station agents arrested 16 Mexican nationals, for illegally entering the United States, one of whom was a convicted sex offender. During processing, records checks revealed that Alejandro Santiago-Perez, 39, and a citizen of Mexico, was convicted of second-degree rape and first-degree burglary in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2002, and sentenced to 84-110 months confinement.

Santiago-Perez was most recently removed from the United States in January of 2009.

As a convicted felon, he faces a charge of 8 USC § 1326 – re-entry after deportation.
