Incomplete Cross-Border Tunnel Found in Naco

TUCSON, Ariz. – An employee from a construction team clearing old border fencing near Naco, contacted Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents at the Brian A. Terry Station to report a possible smuggling tunnel.

Agents investigating the report discovered an incomplete tunnel, approximately 15 feet deep, extending into the United States about 4 feet from the international boundary fence. The tunnel has no ventilation or lighting.

The tunnel will be remediated with concrete while construction continues.
