Joint Enforcement Action Apprehends Large Group at Stash House

Release Date

LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol and the Webb County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) apprehended a large group at a stash house in east Laredo.

The incident began during the midafternoon of July 24, when the WCSO requested assistance from agents assigned to the Laredo North Station regarding a possible stash house at the 3900 block of Santa Isabel Avenue.  Agents conducted an immigration inspection at the residence and discovered 26 individuals in the United States illegally.  All of the individuals were from the country of Mexico and taken into custody pending investigation.

Despite the ongoing international pandemic, smugglers continue to place people in stash houses without any PPE, little to no personal hygiene considerations, and no way of social distancing.  These conditions increase the risk to those being smuggles, our agents, and the community.  Laredo Sector Agents will continue to diligently do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19.
