LAREDO, Texas – On June 22, 2018, Laredo North Agents assigned to the Border Patrol Checkpoint located on Interstate Highway 35 encountered two smuggling cases in which a total of four illegal aliens were concealed inside duffle bags. The events transpired after the drivers of two separate vehicles were questioned regarding their immigration status and were referred to secondary for further inspection after a Border Patrol canine alerted to the presence of concealed humans and/or narcotics.
Upon further inspection, Border Patrol agents discovered a total of four illegal aliens between both events, concealed inside duffle bags. The four illegal aliens were found in good health and were identified as being from the country of Mexico. The drivers, both United States Citizen, were arrested and the vehicles utilized in the smuggling events were seized by Border Patrol. All subjects were processed accordingly.
