LAREDO, Texas – On November 11, 2017, Border Patrol agents seized 296.4 pounds of marijuana after responding to a report of suspicious activity near Riverside Drive in Laredo, Texas. As the agents approached the area they discovered four abandoned bundles of marijuana near the riverbanks of the Rio Grande River. The marijuana had an estimated value of $237,120.00. No arrests were made in this case and the marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The next day, on November 12, 2017, Border Patrol agents with the Laredo Sector Marine Unit seized 255.5 pounds of marijuana after responding to suspicious activity near Mines Road in Laredo, Texas. The agents were able to recover three bundles of marijuana in the Rio Grande River which had an estimated value of $204,408.00. No arrests were made in this case and the marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
On November 12, 2017, Border Patrol agents seized 714.6 pounds of marijuana after responding to suspicious activity near Anna Avenue in Laredo, Texas. Agents observed numerous subjects loading bundles into a Ford F-250 pick-up truck. As agents approached the area, the subjects absconded back to Mexico. A total of nine bundles of marijuana were recovered inside the cab and bed of the truck. The marijuana had an estimated value of $571,680.00. No arrests were made and the marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The Ford F-250 truck, which was reported stolen from San Antonio, Texas, was turned over to the Laredo Police Department.
