Laredo Sector Border Patrol Participates in the Annual Special Olympics Spring Games

LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Sector proudly participated in the 2019 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 Spring Games kicked off at UISD’s Student Activity Center on April 24.

The Laredo Sector Border Patrol participates every year in the annual Special Olympics of South Texas Spring games.  This year, Assistant Chief Jose Martinez along with Border Patrol agents from the Laredo Sector helped the athletes in the opening Torch Run relay. 

Approximately 900 athletes from UISD, LISD, and area school districts participated in the opening ceremonies. The event started with the traditional parade of special athletes accompanied by their principals, teachers and fellow students.

The Laredo Sector Border Patrol is committed to community involvement, it allows agents to give back to the community we work and live in.
