Laredo Sector Border Patrol Stops Narcotics Smuggling Attempt

LAREDO, Texas – Border Patrol agents prevent narcotics smuggling attempt from entering the United States.

The incident occurred late in the afternoon on Feb. 5, when agents assigned to the Laredo North Station received a report of individuals attempting to smuggle several bundles across the Rio Grande River near the Jefferson Water Treatment Plant in west Laredo. Agents arrived and witnessed the subjects drop the bundles and return to Mexico. Agents seized three bundles of marijuana with an approximate weight of 236.9 pounds and an estimated street value of $189,592.
