EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents arrest two criminal migrants convicted of violent crimes.
Monday afternoon, RGV agents apprehended 22 subjects from a Mission, Texas, residence. Criminal records checks identified a 35-year-old male as a Surenos 18 street gang member. The Salvadoran national has a lengthy criminal history in his country of citizenship, to include aggravated homicide, extortion, and illicit groups.
Yesterday afternoon, Weslaco Border Patrol agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, apprehended a group of 67 migrants after they illegally entered the United States. At the station, criminal records checks revealed a 39-year-old male with a previous conviction of attempted murder in Chicago, Illinois, in 2008. The Honduran national was found guilty and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.
All subjects will be processed accordingly.
