RGV Border Patrol Agents Arrest Multiple Criminal Migrants

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrested two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members, two migrants with previous convictions for sexual assault of minors, and a Paisa gang member also with a conviction for sexual assault of a minor.

On Oct. 8, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a migrant in Hidalgo. Record checks on Carlos Garcia, a Mexican national, revealed he is a Paisa gang member and was arrested by Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office in 2005 for indecency with a child. He was convicted and sentenced to four years’ incarceration and subsequently removed from the United States. 

On Oct. 8, MCS agents apprehended a group of 12 migrants in Hidalgo. Record checks on a Salvadoran national, revealed he is a MS-13 gang member with extensive criminal history in the United States (Florida). He has been convicted for assault and has numerous convictions, by an immigration judge, for being a criminal migrant unlawfully in the United States dating back to 2009. 

On Oct. 9, MCS agents apprehended a group of nine migrants south of Mission. Record checks on a Salvadoran national, revealed he is a MS-13 gang member with a previous conviction for attempted second degree murder in Maryland in 2015. He was sentenced to 30 years confinement (all suspended but 5 years) and was subsequently removed from the United States in 2020. 

On Oct. 10, Fort Brown Border Patrol station agents apprehended a group of three migrants in Brownsville. Record checks on a Honduran national, revealed he was convicted of aggravated child molestation in Carrollton, Texas, and was sentenced to 10 years’ probation. He was subsequently removed from the United States. 

On Oct. 11, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of six migrants near Rio Grande City. Record checks on a Honduran national, revealed he was convicted of sex with a minor (16) in California and was sentenced to 120 days confinement and 36 months’ probation. He was subsequently removed from the United States. 

All subjects were processed accordingly.
