Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Arrests High Priority Criminal Aliens

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested a member of the Cartel del Golfo (CDG), an MS-13 gang member, and a sexual offender, all attempting to illegally enter the United States.

On Friday, December 13, 2019, agents assigned to the Kingsville Station arrested a Mexican national, identified as Francisco Bautista-Escobar. During record checks, it was revealed that Bautista was arrested on September 19, 2018 by the Chicago Police Department for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Bautista was convicted on February 21, 2019 and sentenced to 135 days confinement.

On Saturday, Rio Grande City agents arrested a Mexican national near Roma, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the CDG. The subject claimed to be an “estaca” or guard who reports directly to the CDG Miguel Aleman plaza boss.

On Sunday, agents assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol Station arrested a Guatemalan national near Mission, Texas. Record checks confirmed the man is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang, also known as MS-13.

All subjects are being processed accordingly.
