HOLDEN, Maine – On Tuesday, February 4, U.S. Border Patrol agents conducted a multi-vehicle stop, based on information received from law enforcement partners. As a result, agents arrested seven Honduran Nationals and one Guatemalan National.
Upon further questioning, all eight subjects freely stated that they were illegally present in the United States which was later confirmed through biometrics. Furthermore, two of the subjects were previously removed from the United States and are pending criminal charges.
“I’d like to thank our partner agencies for their outstanding vigilance. It’s this kind of concern for our community that helps Border Patrol Agents keep our country safe,” said Brent W. Conley, Patrol Agent in Charge of Houlton Station.
Six subjects have been transferred to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO), two subjects are being referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution under 8 USC 1326, re-entry after removal.
