The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Standards to Prevent, Detect, and Respond to Sexual Abuse and Assault in Confinement Facilities (6 CFR § 115.188) require that the agency review data collected and aggregated “… in order to assess and improve the effectiveness of its sexual abuse prevention, detection, and response policies, practices, and training…” These reports meet this standard as well as:
- Identify corrective actions for the agency as a whole;
- Compare data for the reporting period with those from prior years; and
- Provide an assessment of the agency’s progress in preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse.
