CBPO Ching Kok "CK" Yan

Customs and Border Protection Officer Ching Kok “CK” Yan passed away on May 16, 2020. The circumstances of his passing were reviewed by an executive panel and the CBP Commissioner who agreed that this death occurred in the line of duty. Officer Yan will be remembered for his diligent service to the nation and for his bravery in the face of danger.

Officer Yan started his CBP career in April 2007 and worked in the International Mail Facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, serving in CBP for 13 years. Prior to CBP, Mr. Yan served with TSA as a Transportation Security Screener, giving a total of 17 years in federal service.

He is survived by his wife and four children, ages 17, 12, 11, and 9.
