On November 1, 2024, Border Patrol Processing Coordinator Jose Martin Rodriguez-Lua Jr. was traveling in a U.S. Border Patrol transport vehicle on Military Highway 281 when he was struck by a civilian vehicle. BPPC Rodriguez-Lua Jr. died at the scene.
BPPC Rodriguez-Lua Jr. entered on duty on June 20, 2024. He was assigned to the Centralized Processing Center in Donna, Texas in Rio Grande Valley Sector. BPPC Rodriguez-Lua Jr. is survived by his mother, father, three sisters, and one brother.
