The brand new Massena Station, located on Trippany Road, is the first Border Patrol facility to be constructed in Swanton Sector since the formation of Customs and Border Protection. It is a multi million dollar, state of the art facility which reflects the commitment of The National Border Patrol Strategy to incorporate improved enforcement through personnel, technology, and infrastructure. The new facility, which also incorporates a covered boat dock on the Grasse River, has been in full operation since August 2007.

The Massena Station is responsible for 38 miles of International Border with Canada, 33 miles of which consists of the St Lawrence Seaway, and 5 miles of which is the first section of land border east of the Great Lakes. This five mile section also comprises the St. Regis Mohawk Native American Indian Reservation.
