Border Barrier From Yogurt Canyon to Imperial Beach (Friendship Circle) – San Diego County – September 2022

CBP will be replacing approximately 0.6 miles of deteriorated primary and secondary barrier located adjacent to Friendship Circle where the existing border wall no longer meets the U.S. Border Patrol’s operational needs. On May 27, 2022, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas authorized CBP to move forward with this project to address life, safety, environmental, or other remediation requirements in accordance with the Department’s plan for the use of border barrier funds. 

From September to October 2022, CBP sought input on potential impacts to the environment, culture, quality of life, and commerce, including potential socioeconomic impacts, for the communities located near the sites where construction is taking place. The comment period closed on October 12, 2022, and CBP has compiled a report on feedback received during the comment period.

Muro Fronterizo desde Yogurt Canyon hasta Imperial Beach (Friendship Circle) – Condado de San Diego – septiembre de 2022

CBP reemplazará aproximadamente 0.6 millas de barrera deteriorada primaria y secundaria situado junto a Friendship Circle, en donde el muro fronterizo existente que ya no satisface las necesidades operativas de la Patrulla Fronteriza de EE. UU. El 27 de mayo de 2022, el Secretario de Seguridad Nacional, Alejandro N. Mayorkas, autorizó al CBP a seguir adelante con este proyecto para dirigir los requisitos de remediación de vida, seguridad, medio ambiente y otros requisitos más de acuerdo con el plan del Departamento para el uso de fondos de muro fronterizo.

De septiembre a octubre de 2022, CBP buscó información sobre los posibles impactos al medio ambiente, la cultura, la calidad de vida, y en el comercio que incluye los posibles impactos socioeconómicos para las comunidades localizadas cerca de los sitios alrededor de la construcción. El período de comentarios cerró el 12 de octubre de 2022.
