Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the Tactical Communications Network System Agua Dulce Mountains (June 2021)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of the final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Tactical Communications Network System (TCNS), Agua Dulce Mountains, Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, Ajo, Arizona. The final EA and FONSI analyze the potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts associated with the deployment, operation, and maintenance of the TCNS at a location within the Agua Dulce Mountains, Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge.

CBP provided the draft EA and FONSI for a 30-day review and comment period between March 1 and March 31, 2021. The notice of availability for the draft EA was made available online through CBP.gov and published in the Ajo Copper News.

The evaluation of the Proposed Action demonstrates that there would be no significant effects to the human environment. Therefore, no further environmental impact analysis is warranted and a FONSI has been issued.
