Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a New Central Processing Center in Yuma, Arizona (October 2019)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a Final Environment Assessment (EA) for the construction and operation of a new central processing center and associated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been prepared and are now available for public review.  The Final EA documents a review of the  potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with proposed construction and operation of a new central processing center at the U.S. Border Patrol Sector Headquarters in Yuma, Arizona.

The Draft EA was made available for a 30-day public review and comment period between August 23, 2019 and September 23, 2019 on CBP.gov.  The notice of availability for the draft was published in the Yuma Sun newspaper on August 23, 2019.

Based on the Final EA, a determination was made that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human environment and that further analysis is not required.  Therefore, a FONSI was issued, and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
