Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the Renovation of the Nogales Central Processing Center, Nogales Station, Arizona (August 2020)

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the renovation of the Nogales Central Processing Center, Nogales Station, Arizona. The Final EA documents the review of potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed renovation, operation, and maintenance of a new central processing center at the Nogales Border Patrol Station.

The Draft EA was made available for a 30-day public review and comment period between May 15, 2020 and June 15, 2020 on CBP.gov. The notice of availability for the draft was published in the Arizona Daily Sun and Nogales International newspapers on May 15, 2020.

Based on the Final EA, a determination was made that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human environment and that further analysis is not required.  Therefore, a FONSI was issued, and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
