CBP announces the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Final Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed Rio Grande City (RGC) Road Improvement Project, Starr County, Texas.
CBP plans to upgrade and lengthen four existing roads in the RGC Station’s Area of Responsibility. Approximately 12 miles of roads would be upgraded.
The Draft EA was made available for a 30-day public review and comment period between July 15, 2020 and August 13, 2020. It was accessible through CBP.gov and by distribution to stakeholders and local public libraries. The notice of availability for the draft was published in the Starr County Town Crier and The Monitor on July 15, 2020.
The Final EA was prepared in compliance with provision of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 as amended (42 U.S. Code 4321, et seq.), the Council on Environmental Quality’s NEPA implementing regulations (40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et seq.), DHS Directive Number 023-01, Rev.01, and DHS Instruction Manual 023-01-001-01, Rev. 01, Implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act.
