The Background Investigation
A favorably determination resulting from a completed background investigation is required for your placement in a position with CBP. Final determination of your suitability for the position will be determined by CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility.

Enter on Duty (EOD) Date
Once you have successfully completed the background process, you will be notified of your EOD date via a final selection letter. The links below provide general information about CBP’s benefits and what you can expect during the hiring process. In addition, a link is provided for you to fill out benefit/employment forms in advance of your EOD date. It is recommended that you set aside three to four hours to complete this paperwork. Please note: these forms only apply to those who have successfully completed the background process.
Onboarding Manager
The Office of Personnel Management’s Onboarding Manager (OM) program is CBP’s entrance on duty system for all Federal new employees to complete, sign, and submit most new employee forms electronically. For more information and where to submit a form, please view our Onboarding Manager webpage.
