Border Patrol Drone Successfully Rescues Two Illegal Aliens

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector successfully rescued two illegal aliens that were lost in the mountainous terrain near Ocotillo Thursday morning.

At approximately 4:50 a.m., El Centro Sector Radio Communications Dispatch received a call from the Calexico Police Department of a distress call from a man who had made an illegal entry into the United States. The man stating he and his partner were lost and that his partner had injured his leg. Border Patrol agents began a rescue operation provided with GPS coordinates from the phone call and assistance from a Small Unmanned Aircraft System SUAS unit.

The SUAS unit successfully found the pair at approximately 6:12 a.m., agents on the ground escorted them to safety. The men whom appeared to be in good health, were provided water, examined for injuries, and required no immediate medical attention.

The two adult males were determined to be illegal aliens from Mexico and were transported to the El Centro station immigration rally point where they were expelled back to Mexico.
