Seaports with Biometrics Technology

Everything about a cruise should be relaxing, including getting on and off the ship. CBP’s biometric facial comparison technology has reduced debarkation times by up to 30%, allowing you to sail through CBP processing in record time.

CBP is leading the transformation of the travel experience through biometric facial comparison technology, in partnership with the cruise line industry and technology partners, which all play a critical role.

  • Declaration Zone: An established concept wherein travelers provide an initial declaration via a selection of a departure path. Travelers select between two (2) clearly marked paths demonstrating that they have ‘Items to Declare’ or ‘Nothing to Declare.’
  • Entry: A biometric security solution that uses an individual’s unique physical characteristics—such as fingerprints, facial features—for identity verification as part of the United States immigration system of control and access.
