BOSTON — With more than 4.5 million members, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Global Entry program continues to be one of CBP’s most successful and popular programs, as travelers apply by the thousands each day. To meet the continuing demand of those wanting to enroll in the program, the Boston Field Office will reopen its Global Entry Enrollment Center at the Tip O’Neill federal Building in downtown Boston on Monday, October 2. It will remain open until April 2018. This Enrollment Center is the second in Boston and operates on a seasonal basis, outside of the summer months when travel is at its peak.
“We are excited to once again have a second option for Global Entry applicants to complete their enrollment interview here in Boston,” said CBP Boston Director of Field Operations William A. Ferrara. “While Global Entry is great for the traveler, speeding arriving passengers into the U.S., it also provides enhanced security on our end, which is key to ensuring the safety of our nation.”
The new Global Entry Enrollment Center in the Thomas P. O’Neill Federal Building will be open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning October 2. It is open exclusively to CBP Trusted Traveler Program applicants who have applied for membership through the Global On-line Enrollment System (GOES) and have had their applications conditionally approved. Conditionally approved applicants can now schedule or change their previously scheduled interview to the Tip O’Neill Enrollment Center using the GOES website.
The Global Entry Program provides expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk international travelers and members of these programs can expect expedited processing when entering the United States using automated kiosks at airports. As an added benefit, Global Entry members are also eligible to participate in the TSA Pre✓™, the Transportation Security Administration’s expedited security program.
Travelers interested in enrolling in Global Entry can learn more about that and other CBP Trusted Traveler Programs or apply online through the CBP website.
All travelers are urged to have the proper travel documents, declare all goods and to be aware of prohibited items. Visit the Know Before You Go section of the CBP website for additional information and tips on clearing CBP.
