“CBP remains vigilant and thoroughly conducts examinations on all persons applying for admission to the U.S. Their dedication to our border security mission and attention to detail uncovered this outstanding murder warrant from Honduras,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.
On May 2, 2022, 24-year-old Edgar Omar Guzman Ferrera, a Honduran citizen, arrived from Mexico at the Hidalgo International Bridge and CBP officers referred him for a secondary examination. During the examination, a CBP officer escorted him to the secure area where fingerprint queries resulted in a positive match to an active Interpol warrant for Murder out of Honduras.
Guzman will be detained in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Enforcement and Removal Operations pending adjudication of the warrant.
Criminal charges are merely allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
