DEL RIO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector arrested three convicted sex offenders, shortly after they illegally entered the United States.
March 29, while conducting line watch operations, Eagle Pass Station agents encountered a group of five people attempting to avoid detection near Eagle Pass. They were apprehended and transported to a processing center. Record checks revealed that Ariel Hugo Fuentes Morales, 34, a Mexican national, was convicted of indecency with a child sexual contact, in San Antonio, in 2011. Fuentes Morales was sentenced to 10 years confinement and was most recently deported in 2015.
April 2, Brackettville Station agents encountered two people attempting to avoid detection and determined they were illegally present in the United States. They were apprehended and transported to a processing center. Record checks revealed that Sebastian Jeremias Sanchez-San Luis, 43, a Mexican national, was convicted of criminal sexual conduct of a minor, under the age of 11, in Lexington, South Carolina, in 2022. He was sentenced to one year confinement and was most recently deported in 2022.
April 3, Carrizo Springs Station agents apprehended Humberto Lugo-Moya, 24, a Mexican national, while he attempted to avoid detection near Carrizo Springs. Record checks revealed Lugo-Moya was convicted of sexual abuse and sexual assault, in Arizona, in 2022. Lugo-Moya was sentenced to one year and six months confinement and placed on lifetime probation. He was most recently deported in 2022.
As convicted felons, they face a charge of 8 USC § 1326 – Re-entry after Deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
