On Monday, agents conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle suspected of smuggling. Once making contact with the driver, agents determined that all three occupants in the vehicle were illegally present in the United States. As agents placed the trio under arrest, the driver admitted to harboring additional migrants at a nearby residence. After obtaining consent, agents and Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies entered the residence and made the large apprehension.

The illegal aliens were from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. All subjects will be processed accordingly.

“We continue to see ruthless smugglers cramming immigrants into deplorable stash houses. Our agents work vigilantly to collect viable information to combat these merciless alien smuggling organizations,” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent Raul Ortiz.
