Yuma Sector Border Patrol Apprehends Almost 200 Illegal Aliens in 33-hour Period

YUMA, Ariz. – In the past 33 hours, Yuma Station Border Patrol agents encountered 188 illegal aliens from countries other than Mexico.

From noon Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Yuma Station agents apprehended 23 groups of people from seven countries. Most of the immigrants, 149, are from Guatemala. While 155 of the people were traveling as families, agents identified 18 as unaccompanied children.

So far this year, Yuma Sector has seen a continuous increase the number of migrants surrendering to agents patrolling along the border.

Agents are processing the individuals for immigration violations, in accordance with Yuma Sector guidelines.
