Biometrics Locations: Land Border Ports of Entry

Land Border Ports of Entry with Biometrics Technology

It’s a fact, everyone enjoys a shorter commute. With CBP’s biometric facial comparison technology, inspections are now simpler for all land crossings. Whether it’s for work or pleasure, CBP wants to get you safely and quickly on your way. CBP is committed to identifying, adapting, and delivering innovative technology solutions to ensure your travel is safe, quick, and efficient.

CBP currently has 163 land border ports of entry using biometric facial comparison technology to process pedestrians entering the United States, including two CBP Preclearance locations in Canada. CBP is transforming travel through biometric facial comparison technology at these land border ports of entry.

  • Pedestrian: Biometric facial comparison technology used to process travelers entering the United States through land border ports of entry on foot. Used for processing entry into the United States and I-94s.
  • Vehicle: Biometric facial comparison technology used to process travelers entering the United States through land border ports of entry in personally owned vehicles. Biometric facial comparison technology is currently in testing.
