Where is CBP Using Biometrics Today?

CBP has successfully implemented facial biometrics into the processes for entering the United States at all international airports and into the processes for exiting the United States at 55 airports. CBP also expanded facial biometrics at 39 seaports and all pedestrian lanes at both the Southwest Border and the Northern Border ports of entry.

CBP has leveraged biometric facial comparison technology to process over 697 million travelers - which is equivalent to the combined populations of the United States and Mexico. Biometrics innovations have also prevented more than 2,184 impostors from unlawfully entering the United States, strengthening national security and travel integrity.
