Special Instructions:

All beef imports from Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Uruguay require an export certificate in order to qualify for the in-quota tariff rate.  The importer must possess a valid export certificate at time of entry and certify that they are in possession of the certificate by placing the certificate number in block 34 on the CBF 7501.  ABI filers should transmit the certificate number in the certificate field.  The importer must submit the export certificate upon CBP request.

An export certificate is valid only if it is issued by or under the supervision of the government of the participating country.  It must also be uniquely identifiable and list the name of the exporter, the product description and quantity, and the calendar year for which the export certificate is in effect (15 CFR 2012).
