Annex 401 of the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) provides the specific rule of origin that is applied to determine whether a good qualifies as an originating good under the terms of the NAFTA. However, it is the original 1992 document without updates. As such, the origination analysis should be performed using the current Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) General Note 12(t) available below.
